ATTACHMENT: Board Members Needed!
Dear Homeowner,
The Raven Hills Homeowners Association is in need of volunteers to serve on the Board of Directors! We are looking for dedicated homeowners who are interested in helping implement rules, oversee association finances, make decisions that help the community and much more. There are three open positions that will be appointed to serve out the terms of previous board members.
Though serving sounds time consuming and requires years of experience, please know that is not the case. The current Board meets quarterly, and the meetings are 1-2 hours; business in between meetings is handled via email. Also, Diversified Association Management is there to do all the heavy lifting. They will guide the Board through projects, finances, and all other association business.
Why does the Association need a Board of Directors?
If there are no Board of Directors, this creates significant risks to the Association on multiple levels. For example, only the Board is authorized to execute contracts and approve payments to contractors. Without a Board of Directors, the management company cannot renew contracts with companies that provide trash service, common area landscaping services, snow removal, and management services; those services would discontinue.
Though the management company serves as an agent of the Association, the manager does not have authority to make decisions or take action on behalf of the Association without direction from the Board.
As you can see, we are in need of volunteers to serve on the Board, but as stated above, serving is not as time-consuming and as daunting as it sounds.
